Introducing the Winchester Cup

There’s more to decent bar work than pulling pints and popping corks. In an effort to appropriately celebrate the skills of local bartending talent, Cabinet Rooms are bringing a trade only competition to the first ever Winchester Cocktail Week. If you are a bar tender with a flair for creating show-stopping cocktails and you are based within 55 miles of the Theatre Royal Winchester then this is your time to shine. Head on over to the event page and make sure that you get your entry in on time!

In keeping with the local leanings of Winchester Cocktail Week’s organisers the judges will be looking for locally produced or sourced ingredients in the submitted cocktails. Competition hopefuls will need to have refined their recipe of up to five ingredients and submitted it for consideration before midnight on Sunday January 10th after which point the judges will meet to deliberate. Once they have poured over the entries shortlisted cocktail crafters will be invited to take part in the competition itself and compete for the Winchester cup!

The cup is a seriously impressive prize based on the work of local artist Simon Harmer. True to its name the trophy replicates the Winchester skyline with images of some of our most iconic landmarks. The Winchester Cup will make a strong statement on any mantelpiece or bar and it is well worth fighting for. The lucky winner of the cup will have created an exquisite cocktail which will have been ranked on factors ranging from its name to its aroma and of course the all important element – the flavour! We can’t wait to see what incredible creations the finalists come up with.

May the best bartender win!
